The FEGS's Education and Youth Services (EYS) Division serves at-risk youth and young adults in New York City by helping them reach their potential and become self-sufficient. Each year, we help thousands of young people as they work to graduate from high school, obtain a GED, enter college and prepare for and obtain employment. We provide social support and assistance as they face myriad challenges in their families and communities, at school and work, and in their transition into adulthood. The EYS Division has a $9 million budget and approximately 100 staff with programs located in multiple school- and non- school-based settings across NYC.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Workforce, Education & Youth, the VP of Education and Youth Services will join a dynamic and forward-thinking senior management team and will be responsible for managing the strategy and operations for the portfolio of the EYS programs at FEGS. In this role, you will plan, direct, oversee and monitor all program operations. You will guide the Division?s approach to talent management and professional development to ensure that the EYS continues to employ a high-quality workforce. You will represent the Agency at task force and funding source meetings and will act as a liaison to government, not-for-profit agencies, and as a partner with agencies in the areas of contract management, resource development, referrals, recruitment, training, assessment and employment. Preparation of periodic narrative and fiscal reports, management reports, proposals, refunding applications and other documents will be required.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten years of experience working in leadership within the areas of youth development, education and workforce. An advanced degree is required, preferably in an area of Social Work, Psychology, Education, or Public Policy. Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to using evaluation and the use of data for program improvement. Experience in fundraising, including the engagement of public and private funders and grant writing are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated understanding of fiscal/budget management and the ability to communicate and work with a wide-range of stakeholders is crucial to this role. Ability to address issues of diversity and inclusion and refined organizational skills are required.
